Body | Brachioplasty / Upper Arm Lift |
Loss of weight or simple aging changes may lead to excess skin being present in the upper arms. This skin may also interfere with dressing and the full range of motion. An upper arm lift (brachioplasty), can remove this excess skin and tissue, giving an improved appearance to the arms. This procedure can be combined with liposuction in selected cases to improve the results.
Bleeding, bruising, swelling, dog ears and a scar along the inside of the arm can be expected in this procedure. Arm lift is a procedure which requires very careful consideration on the part of the patient and there is no substitute for a detailed consultation to avoid disappointment. Minor degrees of skin laxity may be treated successfully with Thermage.
All surgical procedures carry certain risks and there are limitations of what can be achieved. A full and frank discussion with the surgeon is the only way to gain a clear insight into the procedure and allow you to make an informed decision about your surgery.
